Cheap npc8/10 Capture

This is the way I conquer a level 8/10 NPC ...it costs less resources to create the troops, the troops build a lot more quickly, and the losses are a lot faster and cheaper to recover from than other methods ...thus the "Cheap" label

I got my first version of this from Hod's and have updated it where I found it beneficial. Its not the only way of course, but it has proved VERY reliable for me over the course of three Age II servers. I use it for both npc8 and npc10 simply because it works and keeps things simpler for me. I like simple.

Before starting, I remind you that all NPCs are un-predictable. Results will rarely be the exact same from person to person. Please keep that in mind.

I assume you will only be attacking from 1 city. If you have a 2nd city within a few miles, you can use it to send 3 or more 5k warrior waves with a junk hero timed to hit just before the first wave from your main attack city.

Requirements:

* You must have a level 9 Rally Spot and Level 9 Feasting Hall.
Note: If you have both a level 10 Rally Spot AND Level 10 Feasting Hall you can increase the number of attacks sent in each wave.

* The level 10 NPC must be 1-2 miles away from where you plan to attack from. Any further and your recovery times get out of sync and the npc regenerates more troops.

* You must have the item “War Ensign”.

* You must have level 10 Archery, level 10 Military Tradition, level 10 Medicine, and level 10 Iron Working.

* You must have at least one hero with 125+ attack. Loyalty 100. DISMOUNTED.

* You must have eight heroes with 100+ attack. Loyalty 100. ALL DISMOUNTED

* You must have 1 worker.

* You must have 1 scout.

* You must have 1 cavalry.

* You must have 1 cataphract.

* You must have 2,500 pikemen.

* You must have 2,500 swordsmen.

* You must have at least 230,000 warriors.

* You must have at least 100,000 archers.

* You must have at least 5 million food available.

If any of the points above don’t apply to you, I highly recommended not to proceed.

The Attack:

Step 1:

* Move all of your heroes into the city that is 1-2 miles from the level 8/10 NPC. You will not have a mayor for the duration of your attacks. Move your mayor to a different city for the time being unless you plan to use him/her as an attacker.

* Move all of your troops and food into the city that is 1-2 miles from the level 10 NPC. You will have the food there to ensure that your troops are supported.

* Apply War Horn, Corselet, & Penicillin.

Step 2:

* Scout the level 8/10 NPC for a weak hero. Do not proceed unless you know how to get a weaker hero.

Step 3:

* Send 100,000 archers – 7,496 warriors – 2,500 pikemen – 2,500 swordsmen – 1 worker – 1 scout – 1 cavalry – 1 cataphract and your strongest hero (125+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC. Before you send the troops, be sure that you have checked the War Ensign box.

* Immediately after, send 40,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC. Before you send the troops, be sure that you have unchecked the War Ensign box.

* Immediately after, send 30,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC.

* Immediately after, send 30,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC.

* Immediately after, send 25,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC.

* Immediately after, send 25,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC.

* Immediately after, send 20,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC.

* Immediately after, send 20,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC.

* Immediately after, send 20,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC.

It’s fine if you don’t have the exact numbers of warriors. As long as you have around the numbers above, you should be OK.

Step 4:

~ Your attacks should be returning every few seconds after the first one, so be sure to send attacks off right away when they return:

* Once your first wave has returned (about 65,000 archers) send 35,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and your strongest hero (125+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC.

* Immediately after, send 30,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC.

Step 5:

* Continue to repeat Step 4 until you conquer the city. Of course, your numbers will go down a little bit each time you re-send the troops. No worries, it won’t affect anything that much.

Adding Allies to Your FB Bar in Evony

To link your evony account to a facebook account:

WARNING: This is currently a once in a lifetime event in Evony. If you later want to change your linked FB account, Evony will simply refuse ...so decide wisely.

If you already have facebook and do not mind evony members seeing your REAL personal information, click on the "F" (facebook) tab on the right side of the playing screen, it will open a new browser, click "connect with facebook", on the new browser pop-up enter your facebook information you?d use to sign into facebook, it will then ask for permission to access basic information, choose ?allow?.Return to the browser where you clicked "connect with facebook" and choose "confirm" then choose "click here to play game" and you will begin playing evony with a linked facebook account.

If you're not comfortable with your real identity or real information being exposed to evony players you can create a new facebook account using a new email address. Once you?ve created a 'fake' facebook you can link it to evony using the same process as above. Note that FB "Terms of Service" currently allow only one account per user. Not that that has stopped Evony users from creating them, just be aware that it is technically a TOS violation.

Once you are linked you can ask members in the alliance for their facebook, if they give you an email address, simply type it into facebook search bar and add them as a friend. To add them as a evony ally click the "F" tab on evony playing screen, then click on the gift box, it will open a facebook app page, choose "my allies" then choose the names you want to send an ally request to, click "send ally request" once someone has accepted your ally request you can then send them free gifts such as speed-ups and resources, you can also visit their empire and boost their resources and vice versa.

Medal Farming Notes:

An NPC takes 8 min to regenerate full defences. Leave an interval of this time before attacking it again for the best chances of getting another medal.

Valleys do not need time to replenish after they have been abandoned, and can be attacked repeatedly (they have no regeneration time). I generally find leaving 10 secs between waves gives me plenty of time to enter and abandon before the next wave hits. If the server has severe lag, you should extend the intervals.

Attacking with an Intel Hero increases the medal drop rate. If you are not taking losses with your current attacks, changing the hero armor from attack to wisdom may improve your drop rate.

Ballista counts needed change with the hero level and HBR/Archery research.
Read http://www.theevonywiki.com/index.php/NPC#Farming_NPC.27s_for_Resources for definitive information.

Drop rates: After recording more than a thousand hits, the drop rate appears to be precisely what your achievements buff says it is. This rate includes not only medals but scripts (mich/LAS), Hero Hunting, Speakers, Materials, etc. Drop rate is a total number ie while my total drop rate on npc5s was 4%, the drop rate for Honor Medals was ~1%.

Persistence counts. It may take you 100 hits to get one of the medals you need but the other medals/scripts/gems add up as well. Then you may hit two in 25 tries, but no promises. If you don't have the patience for this, evony will gladly take your money.

All medals may be found at higher lvl npcs than listed if the npc loyalty is low.

Troop Building: Maximize Amounts and Speed

This procedure maximizes the population available in the selected city for building troops as fast as possible in Age II. It does this by temporarily reducing your production to zero and thus freeing all of the city's population for troop building.

Step 1: Make Your Empire's Highest Attack Hero The City's Mayor

Notes: Your City's mayor at the time you set the build of troops determines how fast you can
build them. The difference of a few seconds per troop adds up to a large amount of time saved
over thousands of troops. To take maximum advantage of this, always move your highest
attack level hero into the city using a scout and Reinforce, then make them Mayor.

Step 2: Maximize The Population Available To Build Troops With

Click on the Town Hall, the Overview screen pops up.
Click on the production tab and set production to 0
Click on the tax rate tab, then click on OK.
Your idle population should now equal your max population.

Notes: There should be almost NO idle population in any city. Idle population means you are NOT making the most of your city's assets. So if your resource fields need 20K population then ideally you only need a total of 20K population in the city. Justhave enough cottages to take care of the resource fields, the rest should be required buildings and barracks. Depending on your resource field's labor needs, you should be able to have 14 to 18 barracks per city once you've removed no longer required buildings.

Step 3: Build Your Troops

Step 4: Make Your City's Highest Politics Hero The City's Mayor

Notes: Your city's Mayor during the time you are NOT building troops determines how fast you can build other items such as walls, buildings, resource fields, etc. To take maximum advantage of this, always make your city's highest Political rated Hero the Mayor. Failing to reset your Mayor will leave your city building using the Pol ratings of the Hero you used to build your troops. This can be a very costly mistake.

Step 5: Restore Your City's Production And Population

Click on the Town Hall, the Overview screen pops up.
Click on the production tab and set production to 100
Click on the tax rate tab, then click on OK.
Your idle population should now reflect any population shortage in red and your population
trend should be UPWARD indicating you are building new laborers.
Click on comforting tab, use population raising to get population up quick

Note: You can use comforting/population raising every 15 minutes to restore your population (and production) more quickly. Failing to restore your city's production and population is an all too common error when doing fast troop building.
